Gabriel and the beanstalk

Gabriel (age 2 1/2) paid a visit to Papa’s garden today to help me pick green beans. All vertical surfaces become a climbing wall for this guy, and the trellis was no exception. He made it all the way up to get a bird’s eye view of Papa tilling down below. The tender green beans are delicious, even raw, but we will eat them tonight sautéed with garlic and lemon zest.
